Some security guards of Greenland Estate in the Mende, Maryland zone of Lagos State killed three 30-foot pythons in the early hours of Tuesday.
It was learnt that the killing of the reptiles
brought panic into the estate as inhabitants expressed fear for their security.

The Vice Chairman of the estate, Sola Adekoya, said more than 15 pythons had been killed on the estate in 2016 alone, encouraging the legislature to locate an enduring answer for the congested waterways in the zone.
He said, "The security men and a few squatters got the three pythons at the beginning of today around 8am. The giant snakes were around 30-foot long.
"We have seen more than 15 pythons this year alone; the watchmen killed them routinely. The reason is that the canals are congested and the snakes dependably hide under the channels. We need government's intervention on time to maintain a strategic distance from any tragedy."
It was learnt that inhabitants of the region dependably stayed inside during the evening because of a paranoid fear of being attacked by snakes.
