Buhari orders sale of two presidential jets

The Presidency on Tuesday affirmed newspaper advertisements for the sale of two presidential jets, a Falcon 7x official plane and Hawker 4000 were properly approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba
Shehu, affirmed this in a statement made accessible to journalists.

Shehu said the choice to sell the planes was line with the order of the President that aircraft in the Presidential Air Fleet be lessened to eliminate waste.

He clarified that the decrease would not end with the sale of the two planes.

The presidential representative said some airplane in the armada would likewise soon be given over to the Nigeria Air Force for its operations.

Shehu said, "When he crusaded to be President, the then APC hopeful Muhammadu Buhari, in the event that you review, guaranteed to take a gander at the Presidential Air Fleet with a perspective to eliminating waste.

"His mandate to an administration panel on this task is that he got a kick out of the chance to see a minimized and solid airplane for the sheltered transport of the President, the Vice President and other government authorities that go on exceptional missions.

"I am certain the Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet will at whatever time from now, call you to a service at which he will hand over some other aircraft to the Airforce for their operations."

As indicated by the Presidency, the PAF right now has 10 aircraft.
