The Taraba State branch of the Igbo Welfare Association has granted scholarship to 100 orphans examining in different auxiliary schools in the state.
The President-General of the affiliation, Mazi Nwokeocha, made the declaration in
Jalingo on Tuesday while dispensing cash to beneficiaries.
Nwokeocha said the 100 recipients were offspring of the association's dead members.
The president-general said that every recipient got N15,000 as help to proceed with his/her education.
Nwokeocha said the motion was started by the association in 2007 to give family of dead individuals a feeling of having a place.
He exhorted Igbos dwelling in the state to live in peace with their host families and to keep on being great ministers of the Igbo race.
One of the recipients, Johnson Emeka, who talked in the interest of the recipients, complimented the association for the motion.
Emeka guaranteed that the recipients would legitimize the signal by being dedicated.
