Youth arrested with PVCs in Edo


A young man has been arrested with around 25 Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) at Ugo in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.


The suspect, apprehended at the weekend, had advised occupants to present their PVCs
in return for a N200,000 strengthening advance.

An occupant unveiled that: "We got data that one kid was gathering PVCs from a few people. We then chose to search for the kid. We could find him as he was followed to his home and 25 PVCs were found with him.

"The kid said he was solicited to do as such by some from his pioneers in Ugo. He said he was informed that any individual who surrendered his card will be given a credit worth of N200,000.

"That spurred the general population to give out their cards. We then took the kid to the police headquarters at Ugo. They had before cautioned him to stop what he was doing however he didn't tune in."

Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Chris Ezike, has affirmed the capture.

"I have trained that the matter be exchanged to the state central command. We have exhorted all to play by the tenets," he said.
