Hudahuda to launch Buhari's biography on October 3rd
A life story on President Muhammadu Buhari will be lauched on Oct. 3 at the International Conference Center in Abuja.
The book, entitled "The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria'', is composed by
Prof. John Paden, an eminent Don of International Studies, George Mason University, America.
The book, distributed by Hudahuda Publishing Company, chronicled the struggle and career of the President until May 29, 2016.
Some of the personalities expected at the event incorporate the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Tinubu, and the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
Others are Nigeria’s former United Nations Permanent Representative, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and former U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell.
Buhari, a retired Maj.- Gen. in the Nigerian Army, was born on Dec. 17, 1942.
He served as the nation’s Head of State from Dec. 31, 1983 to Aug. 27, 1985, after taking power in a military coup d’état.
He unsuccessfully ran for the office of President in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 general elections.
In Dec. 2014, he emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the March 2015 general elections.
Buhari won the election, defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
This marked the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent president lost to an opposition candidate in a general election.
He was sworn in on 29 May 2015.
Buhari, a resigned Maj.- Gen. in the Nigerian Army, was conceived on Dec. 17, 1942.
He served as the country's Head of State from Dec. 31, 1983 to Aug. 27, 1985, in the wake of taking force in a military rebellion.
He unsuccessfully kept running for the workplace of President in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 general races.
In Dec. 2014, he rose as the presidential competitor of the All Progressives Congress for the March 2015 general decisions.
Buhari won the race, crushing the occupant President Goodluck Jonathan.
This denoted the first run through in the historical backdrop of Nigeria that an occupant president lost to a restriction applicant in a general decision.
He was confirmed on 29 May 2015.
