PDP rejects Edo governorship election results

The Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the results of the Edo governorship election held on Wednesday, ahead of the announcement of the result.

The party rejected the results in a question and answer session tended to by its
Chairman in the state, Mr. Dan Orbih,on Thursday in Benin.

Both the party and its competitor said they dismisses the results since they were "manufactured and pre-decided" by the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Edo (State) Government.

INEC was declaring the results of the survey as at the time of documenting this report.

Orbih said that the outcomes, as they were being declared by the INEC, were at a complete difference with what the partyt got from it specialists and free eyewitnesses.

He asserted that the two-week expansion of the survey by the discretionary body was to take into account more opportunity to culminate the control of the procedure.

He said, "You will review that our state Publicity Secretary had advised the press under 48 hours to the races on what is playing out at this point.

"In the event that you pass by the outcomes that were declared at the surveying units and wards over the state, it demonstrates that PDP would have won by more than 30,000 votes.
