Federal Government Plans Uninterrupted Power For 40 Universities


The Federal Government has taken measures to give stable power supply to forty Federal Universities. 


The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu and his partner in the Power, Works and
Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola who expressed this at an intelligent session with Vice Chancellors and Directors of Physical Planning of the Universities in Abuja, revealed that the exertion is through the usage of off-framework Independent Power Projects, IPPs and Public Private Partnership, PPP structures.

Praising the activity, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, who speaks to the Minister, said that the Power, Works and Housing Ministry started the Energizing Education Program to give continuous and committed power supply to the colleges. 

The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Alhaji Mustapha Baba Shehuri, who spoke to the Minister, said the venture would likewise advance financial development and practical improvement in the colleges. 

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Power, Damilola Ogunbiyi, said that the profitability and demonstrable skill of the Universities would be supported in the territories of examination, instructing and learning and improves the nature of alumni from the colleges. 

Mrs Ogunbiyi said that the plants are ecologically neighborly with next to zero carbon emanation in accordance with worldwide environmental change standard.
