Patience Jonathan Tells Court $31.4M Found In A Frozen Account Belongs To Her


The former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has made a stunning disclosure as she told a court that the staggering $31.4m Found in a Frozen Account belongs to her. 


Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has said the $31.4 million frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission over an alleged fraud belongs to her. She put forth her defense under the steady gaze of a Federal High Court in Lagos.

As indicated by The Guardian, direction to the principal respondent in control, with case number FHC/337C/16, Mr. Gboyega Oduwole, educated the court that Mrs. Jonathan recorded a basic application against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), asserting responsibility for cash. 

The cash happened after the EFCC had taken former President aide, Amajuoyi Azubike Briggs, former  Skye Bank official, Damola Bolodeoku, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited to court in an asserted $31.4 million misrepresentation involving the companies without address. 

Others likewise charged incorporate Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited, Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited and Globus Integrated Services Limited. 

As indicated by an application recorded on September 6, this year, with document number FHC/L/C5/1233/16, Mrs. Jonathan is requesting that the court make a request for the requirement of her essential rights, regarding reliefs she looked for, and naming as respondents, the EFCC and Skye Bank Plc. 

The former first lady requested that the court make an announcement that the asset remaining to the credit of four of the organizations and a record in her own name in Skye Bank belongs to her. 

She likewise requested that the court announce that the activity of the respondents in putting a No Debit/Freezing Order on the said accounts with no request of a skillful courtroom or earlier notice to her, to be in break of her crucial rights as contained in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
