Custom seize fake malaria drugs worth N20m


The Nigeria Customs Service has reallocated substandard against malaria medications and antibiotic, esteemed at N20million being carried into the nation through the Nigeria/Benin Republic outskirt at idiroko in Ogun State. 


The Area Controller of the Ogun State Command of the administration, Multafu Waindu, made this known as he gave over
the confiscated drugs to the agent of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC. 

"The fake drugs were on onward transportation into the nation to be sold in the open market," he said, including that the charge would not yield in its endeavors to reduce carrying exercises in the state. 

The Officer in Charge, Port Inspection Directorate of NAFDAC in Idiroko, Datol Andrew, getting the drugs, said the confiscation has spared over a million Nigerians from succumbing to fake drugs use. 

He notwithstanding, communicated his mistake that the importer of the drugs was not seized to serve as a hindrance to other people who take part in such act pronouncing that the organization would keep on working in association with the Customs to guarantee unlawful drugs and food items were kept from discovering their way into the nation.
