Uber driver attempts to hop inside Lagos Lagoon over N90k debt


Hammed Olojo, 31 was on Sunday evening restrained by agents of the Rapid Response Squad on watch of Third Mainland Bridge from hopping into the Lagoon. 

Olojo, who drove himself to the Third terrain Bridge in a Uber Toyota Corolla cantina car, having a place with Kalejaiye Oluwaseyi, had composed a short note and left it in the car when he was retrained by the officers who observed him a while before strolling up to him. 


Addressed by RRS Commander, ACP Tunji Disu on why he thought about suicide, Olojo, an ex – convict, clarified that he was owing N10,000 in Court 3, Ikeja High Court and the proprietor of the vehicle N80,000. He expressed that things have been troublesome for him and that he had attempted every conceivable intend to get by with no achievement. 

Olojo unveiled that his wife influenced him from proceeding with his arrangement yet his brain was made up and was bolstered up of everything. Olojo, had intended to abandon a short note in Yoruba and converted into English in the auto before jumping into the Lagos Lagoon. 


The letter read partially "I killed myself because of the challenges I have been facing
in life. I tried my best and everything has come to nothing". The car owner, Kalejaiye who was at RRS office in company of his wife, noticed that for two weeks, he had not transmitted N40,000 every week rent to him yet and he Kalejaiye, has been paying for the service of his car.

He noticed that in spite of the fact that, he instructed him to hand over the car last Thursday, at no time did he compel him not to drive the car. He noticed that he knew that he had a court case, at no time did he put him under weight about the car. 


In the note which was dated 27th August, 2017 and marked by him, Olojo showed his telephone number and the car proprietor's number. Affirming the advancement, Police PRO expressed that the case had been exchanged to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
