Facebook, Google lose $123m to Lithuanian scammer

The Court of Appeal of Lithuania has chosen to remove to the United States a Lithuanian scammer recognized as Evaldas Rimasauskas, who conned $123 million out of FaceBook and Google by sending fake messages. 

"Supposition that the harm was done to the organizations enlisted in the United States turned into the ground for the removal of Rimasauskas," the court said in a public statement on Friday. 

The decision to remove the scammer was unavoidable, the court said. 

The U.S. Lawyer's Office for the Southern District of New York blamed Rimasauskas for wire exchange extortion, disturbed data fraud and tax evasion, news organization Elta revealed. 

It is claimed that Rimasauskas participated in the trick utilizing email correspondence and acted like an Asian PC equipment producer to induce Google and Facebook to
acknowledge fake solicitations and exchange assets to the organization built up under a similar name in Latvia. 

The assets were exchanged to the last organization's records in banks in Cyprus and Latvia. 

The court underlined it has not been evaluating the conditions of the wrongdoing and the confirmation of blame as it "should believe the data gave by the legal specialist of the nation which connected for the removal." 

Rimasauskas is suspected to have conned 23 million dollars from Google and 100 million dollars from Facebook. 

He was kept in Lithuania on March 16. On April 18, the Prosecutor General's Office of Lithuania got the U.S. Equity Department's ask for to remove the suspect. 

Rimasauskas has denied the charges. 

In the mean time, the lawyer of Rimasauskas guaranteed that the investigation of the presumed wrongdoing must occur in Lithuania as the professedly criminal activities were done inside the nation, neighborhood media revealed. 

Lithuania has a two-sided removal concurrence with the United States and this case "meets every one of the criteria", the executive of the court underlined.
