Paulinho To Join Barcelona – Reports

Brazil international and previous Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho will go to Spain to finish a move to Barcelona on Sunday after the Catalan club initiated the Guangzhou Evergrande player's purchase out condition, Chinese media announced.

Barca, who require fortifications after the world record exchange of Brazil forward Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain a week ago, will pay the 40 million euros (36 million pounds) for the 29-year-old to end his two-year spell in the Chinese Super League.

Barcelona were not promptly accessible to remark.

Paulinho had as of late been connected with a move to the Spanish side yet Guangzhou executive Xu Jiayin had denied that the previous Corinthians midfielder would be sold before the finish of the season in the wake of dismissing two past offers.

Xu said the cost of supplanting Paulinho, who marked another arrangement this year, would make it outlandish for Guangzhou to part with a player instrumental in their charge to the highest point of the table and rushed to the Asian Champions League quarter-finals.

Paulinho joined Guangzhou after a baffling spell in the English Premier League with Spurs and has built up himself as a key player for his Chinese club and his nation.

In March, he got a cap trap as Brazil gave Uruguay a 4-1 crush in a World Cup qualifier, while he has scored seven objectives in the Chinese association and five in the Asian Champions League.
