ASUU STRIKE: NANS ISSUES 21-DAY ULTIMATUM TO FG


The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a 21-day final proposal to the Federal Government to determine its issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). 

NANS National President, Chinedu Obasi on gave the final proposal in an announcement on Monday. 



He debilitated that if by the lapse of 21 days final proposal, the issue was not settled, Nigerian students would be compelled to ground exercises in the nation. 

He stated: "It is with deep pain and regret that NANS received the news of another indefinite strike by ASUU over the federal government’s indifference to their plight.



"Nigerian students sees the separate in arrangements as an additional verification that political pioneers couldn't care less about their future. 

"Consequently, we wish to call on the federal government to do all it can to get
ASUU back to the classrooms.

“The demands of ASUU are reasonable and touch on the integrity of government, especially in the light of the fight against corruption.”




Obasi asked why the legislature has declined to respect its piece of a concurrence with ASUU. 

He included that NANS would be meeting in the coming week with pioneers of ASUU to discover their unchangeable least in their requests. 

ASUU had on Monday formally declared the initiation of its across the country industrial activities at a news meeting held in Abuja.
