Many killed as gunmen storm Anambra church (see details and photos)

Gunmen stormed the St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra.

An observer said on Sunday that the gunmen went into the congregation amid the 5:45 am mass and distinguished a specific man and shot him. 

He said that the gunmen later went out of control and shot at the rest of the worshippers numbering more than 100. 

Number of individuals were killed in the congregation while other critically injured worshippers passed on while in transit to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi. 

The source, in any case, said the priest of the Church was not injured in the incident.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Garba Umar, affirmed the occurrence, including that more points of interest would be given after investigations.
