ASUU declares indefinite strike


Lecturers in Nigerian public universities have pronounced an indifinite strike from Sunday, August 13. 

The lecturers, individuals from the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, reported their decision on Monday morning. 



At a public interview in Abuja, the ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, clarified purposes behind the speaker's choice. 

Mr. Ogunyemi said the nation strike would be total and extensive. 



"Amid the strike, there should be no lecturing, no examination and no participation of statutory meetings of any sort in any of our branches," he said.
