The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu, on Thursday said ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) might be canceled inside one week.
The pastor expressed this at a meeting with the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund in Abuja.
He said that the service and other real partners were at that point holding gatherings with the union to determine a portion of the issues that prompted the strike.
He guaranteed that with the level of advance made in the transaction, there was trust that understudies and teachers would come back to classes inside one week.
"The issue of renegotiation is now going on. I have officially composed a letter
formalizing the meeting I had with the union, since I went alone to confront them and I composed a letter which I gave them yesterday.
"From the way they got it, I think it is conceivable that the strike will be canceled inside seven days, greatest,'' he said.
Adamu said while clarifying explanations behind the strike, ASUU blamed the Federal Government for neglecting to keep its side of the assention.
He guaranteed that the Ministry of Finance had consented to do the needful with respect to discharging stores as quickly as time permits.
