Lagos Flood: Power cut reported in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, others


The administration of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, on Sunday reported that there would be power blackout in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and its environs as the organization's infusion substations and hardware submerged in the surge. 

Godwin Idemudia, General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the organization was having challenges in all its infusion substations because of the surge from substantial rains on Saturday. 

As indicated by Mr. Idemudia, some of EKEDC transformers in the zones have been submerged. 

The general administrator said that the administration of the organization had coordinated that transmission be "deloaded" in the influenced ranges for
safety.

He said that the infusion substations influenced by the surge included Lekki Transmission Station, Agungi, Lekki, Ademola and Anifowoshe. 

"Victoria Garden City, Water Front, Maroko and Oniru Injection Stations are totally out. 

"We have to take a gander at the degree of the impact of the surge on our gear. 

"Be that as it may, we are directly working round the clock to reestablish supply to our regarded clients," he said. 

Mr. Idemudia spoke to the clients to demonstrate understanding over the inconvenience the blackout had caused.
