The Enugu Police Command has arrested an herbalist, Adekunle Oseni, who professedly arranged a mixture to catch and arrest of thieves, which purportedly killed a 30-year-old lady.
Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu Command, Ebere Amaraizu, in an announcement on Saturday in Enugu, said the episode occurred at Ugbodogwu territory of Trans Ekulu in Enugu city on Friday.
He said the lady, Ukoro Onyinye, an occupant of Ugbodogwu Trans Ekulu, had taken the mixture which was made with a goat's heart, to empower her identify and arrest cheats that had persistently broken into her shop.
"Investigation concerning the lady's passing unveiled that she took some natural concoctions arranged by Oseni.
"From our discoveries, the deceased met the suspect through a neighbor identified as
Alesinloye Nuru, after she (deceased) whined of steady thievery of her shop.
"On July 2, the deceased contacted the suspect who, in the wake of tuning in to her grumbling, arranged a mixture which he guaranteed would empower her identify and arrest the criminals.
"In the early hours of July 28, she (the deceased) began spewing and was hurried to Colliery Hospital, Enugu, where she was affirmed dead,'' the announcement said.
The PPRO said the corpse had been kept at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the suspect was helping the police in their investigation.
