Man turns fish pond into fuel depot in River State


Operatives of the Rivers State command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps have revealed an illegal oil dump site in a location in Rivers State. 

The landfill was loaded with raw petroleum and other corrupted oil based commodities when a group of NSCDC personnel, led by the state Commandant, Mr. Muhammed Haruna, raged the place on Monday. 

The office, which was utilized as a fish pond before, was changed over to an oil dump, where stolen raw petroleum were put away and later sold to suspected illicit oil merchants. 

It was assembled that the unlawful oil dump had been in operation for around two years without the information of occupants of Mbano Camp in Oyigbo Local
Government Area of the state.

Talking with newsmen at the unlawful dump site, the state NSCDC Commandant said the proprietor of the office and a laborer at the site, Desmond Iheonu, had been captured. 

Haruna said the presumes utilized the fish pond facilities  including GP tanks, to store stolen unrefined petroleum, including that they (the suspects) would be charged to court toward the finish of examination. 

"We are approaching inhabitants of the state to dependably be at alarm and report such a wrongdoing to us. The illicit oil dump is even unsafe to inhabitants of the range and that is the reason it is important for them to educate us of any wrongdoing going ahead inside their condition," he said.
