Edo Guber: Tribunal affirms Obaseki as duly elected governor

The Edo State governorship tribunal has as affirmed Godwin Obaseki as the elected governor of Edo State.

In a judgment conveyed to a petition recorded by the aspirant of the Peoples Democratic gathering (PDP) Osagie Ize Iyamu challenging the assertion of Godwin Obaseki as winner of the September 26, 2016 election

The tribunal held that the petitioners were not able to prove their case.

The tribunal included that Ize Iyamu and the PDP's "heavy reliance " on the voting
procedure, particularly accreditation and ticking of voters is lost and has made the quality of their case irrelevant.

As indicated by the decision tribunal, every one of the witnesses' proof just offered trustworthiness to the election.

The primary petitioner Osagie Ize Iyamu, and the primary respondent Godwin Obaseki and also the counsel to INEC were missing at the sitting.
