The Bayelsa State government has pronounced November 2nd a public holiday to mark the state's Thanksgiving Day, saying it is an opportunity to respect God for the socio-economic and political difficulties confronted as of late by the state.
As indicated by the announcement issued yesterday by the state Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Hon.
Jonathan Obuebite, however the state has conquered the different difficulties, there is the need to acknowledge God for His benevolent actions, generosity and dependability in the life of the general population of the state.
As indicated by Obuebite, "The Lord has been merciful, kind and faithful to Bayelsa and the need to appreciate him with thanksgiving can't be overemphasized. There is the need to say thanks to God taking after the various difficulties it has overcome in the most recent one year.
