A fire incident which occurred in the small hours of Wednesday in a chicken market at Ijora Olopa Lagos has annihilated down no less than 14 shops.
The fire incident was learnt to begin around 4am razing down the chicken shops.
It was learnt that the inferno was triggered by a start from the adjacent transformer when every one of the shops were locked.
A security man told Daily trust that he
heard some odd noise from the transformer around 3am preceding the start happened bringing about flame which immersed the line where just chicken shops were sited.
A large portion of the shop owners who are not inhabitant around the area were informed of the incident as the vast majority of them briskly hurried to the scene to evaluate the degree of harm.
Journalists who was at the scene toward the beginning of today revealed that smoke was all the while howling from the shops despite the fact that fire warriors had put off the inferno.
It was assembled that inhabitants of the area who saw the fire flare-up quickly cautioned authorities of the state's Fire Service who mobilized their resources to limit the effect of the disaster.
One of the shop owners, Omowunmi Alagangan told the journalist that she got a call around 5am about the incident, saying, "When I arrived, I found my shop has been torched totally on the grounds that the fire really began from the shop near the transformer and my own shop is recently alongside that shop".
She said she couldn't evaluate the degree of the harm yet she has lost a large number of Naira to the inferno.
Another shop owner, Mrs. Toyin Rilwan communicated stun over the fire catastrophe, saying every one of her ventures had been lost to the inferno. She approached government to come to her rescue.
"Things are hard at this point. There is retreat. Government needs to come to our rescue for us to remain on our feet once more. I have lost all that I rely on upon, speculations have gone", she said.
As of the time a journalist left the place, other shop owners were yet to arrive.
The state Director of Fire Service, Mr. Razak Fadipe said his men were alarmed of the occurrence in the early hours of today and they promptly took control of the circumstance.
