President Muhammadu Buhari has exhibited Aishah Ahmad to the Senate for affirmation as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. She is to replace a previous Deputy Governor, who resigned early this year.
As per the arrangements of Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007, President Buhari encouraged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to consider the speedy affirmation of Mrs. Ahmad, who might then resume work promptly.
In a similar vein, the president has written the Senate, looking for the affirmation of arrangement of individuals from the Monetary Policy Committee of the CBN. They are to supplant four individuals,
who tenure ends toward the finish of this current year.
The chosen people are: Adeola Adenikinju; Aliyu Sanusi; Robert Asogwa and Asheikh Maidugu. After Senate leeway, the new individuals from the Monetary Policy Committee are to continue obligations next January. Aisha is the Consumer Banking and Investment Head at Diamond Bank.
