Federal government begs SSANU, NASU, NAAT to suspend strike


The Federal Government has begged the Non-Teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities to suspend the three months strike they set out upon since December 10 2017. 

Senator Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labor and Employment, put forth the interest in an announcement marked by Samuel Olowookere, the Director, Press in the service, on Tuesday in Abuja. 

There had been appeasing gathering with the Non-Teaching Staff of Nigerian Universities called at the occurrence of the minister. 

The Non-Teaching Staff of Nigerian Universities working under the acronym Joint Action Committee are made of the Non Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, Senior Staff Academic of Nigerian Universities and National Association of Academic Technologists. 

It was reviewed that JAC had blamed the Federal Government for rupturing the understanding entered with the
associations in September 2017 that had prompted the suspension of the strike the associations set out on.

The priest said the present organization was making moves to forever resolve every exceptional issue that disturb academic activities in the universities. 

He additionally said measures were being taken by the legislature to settle the exchange question with the Joint Action Committee. 

He, in this way, spoke to them to cancel the strike. 

Samson Ugwoke, the JAC Chairman, said the Federal Government had required the reconciliatory to beg the associations to cancel the strike. 

Ugwoke said JAC would summon a gathering tomorrow to brief its individuals with a view to canceling their strike. 

The gathering, which had the administration of the associations and the authorities of the Federal Ministry of Education in participation, pondered comprehensively on all the exceptional issues raised by the associations.
