Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday recommended least sentence of 25 years for rapists, saying assault ought not be met with light sentencing.
Ambode made the proposal amid a representative stroll against residential and sexual viciousness at Alausa.
"It is exceptionally suggested. We require new laws which will react sufficiently to the nature and events of this time.
"Aggressive behavior at home is a wrongdoing and ought to be dealt with accordingly. The Protection against Domestic Violence Law, 2007 should, along these lines, be altered appropriately," he said.
