Nigerians speak: On Big Brother Naija show

I don't see the joy in watching it – Ejike Kanife, Writer

I don't watch the show since I think that its neither diverting nor intriguing or even suspense filled. It's only two or three folks living in detachment, doing a portion of the things consistent folks do regular. I don't see the joy in watching that. I regard the selection of a huge number of individuals who think that its enjoyable however. So I don't have an issue with it.

BBN promotes sexual immortality and waywardness – Paul Elendu, IT Consultant/Gospel artiste

The past Big Brother show was tied in with exhibiting and upgrading the endowments and abilities of our childhood. However, this version is simply advancing sexual immortality and waste. We require shows to extend the benefit of our land. I don't have the foggiest idea about the criteria with which the organizers use to judge or pick individuals.

The majority of the housemates in this edition have nothing to offer other than sex and waywardness. Big brother should pay special mind to individuals with endowments and gifts to make Nigeria glad and furthermore to affect the adolescent emphatically.

I don't see the relevance – Esther Bamiloshin, Media Personality

I don't see the relevance of the show. As a matter of first importance, I don't watch it. I simply get look at it… I know they are offering their market, yet they should attempt and make it more educative and impactful.

BBN ought to be banned – Oliver Uzoma-Okafor, Interior Designer

It ought to be banned, after all the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) boycott some music recordings. So BBN should be restricted. Why can’t they use the prize money to promote practical creativity of individuals who excel academically or otherwise. I see no advantage watching the show.

It is sheer waste of time – Abimbola Emmanuel

It's a waste of time and cash. Those supporting the show should search for students without standing exhibitions and give them that N45million. A program that isn't educative or educational in any capacity. What ethics does it show us?

We simply watch a show of ineptitude that's it in a nutshell. It impacts adversely on the young people since it influences them to figure they can profit without education or a job. All they require do is go for the show and gain a considerable measure of cash. What's more, if that isn't conceivable, they turn to wrongdoing keeping in mind the end goal to profit.

The show is very entertaining – Oluwamayowa Agunloye, Student

The Big Brother Naija show has no negative impact essentially. The show is x-evaluated
and I figure that implies just rationally developed individuals should watch it. It is exceptionally entertaining, in light of the fact that on the off chance that it wasn't individuals would not have joined WhatsApp groups for updates or take after tweets and hash tags about the show. There are ethics to take from the show, how about we look past the sexual part what not.

There are intellectual and behavioral ethics, these individuals are not simply in the house for three months to engage in sexual relations. We as a whole need to extricate up a bit, the nation is much excessively genuine as of now and a few of us help ourselves with Big Brother.

The prize cash is too much – Ngozi Jude, Aspiring Presenter

I trust the Big Brother Naija indicate isn't in any capacity decidedly affecting the young people. Or maybe it adapts their consideration towards less important issues which not the slightest bit can add to their lives. I would state the show is engaging to a few people, despite the fact that I'm not a fan, I just watch when I can.

I don't think there are any ethics to gain from the show. The prize cash is excessively for only one individual. That cash can be put into something different, that will create more pay and decrease the rate of joblessness in the general public.

Nigerians use the show to overlook economic problems – Temilorun Ajayi, Entrepreneur

Actually, I don't think there is any good to detract from the Big Brother Naija show. In any case, I feel Nigerians like anything that will keep them stuck to their TV sets just to unwind and disregard what Buhari has done, is doing or is yet to do.

The show is intended to entertain, however needs ethics, in spite of the fact that they attempt however much as could reasonably be expected to establish guidelines and controls. It isn't a food show nor is it a documentary, we are simply watching individuals' way of life like the Kardashians.

It doesn't affect the watchers in any way – Vivian Jude, Entrepreneur

The show isn't affecting the watchers in at any rate. It is useful for the housemates since it gives them a stage to grandstand their gifts and furthermore makes them popular. The show is very entertaining; we get the opportunity to see the great, the awful, the amusing and the doltish housemates.

The main good lesson that can be taken from the show is simply the significance of being one's, it shows that carrying on with a phony life isn't right in light of the fact that the watchers can see the housemates that are phony and thus, such housemate would lose votes and may wind up not winning.

Viewing the show can be addictive – Kingsley Osazuwa, Computer Engineer

The Big Brother Naija show is a noteworthy method for engaging Nigerians. It is likewise a method for urging the adolescents to discover their talents, I mean the housemates in the enormous sibling house are not phenomenal individuals, so young people can exploit the open door by most likely trying out for the following release with a specific end goal to demonstrate their gifts to the world.

Despite the fact that there are a few inconveniences to the show, for instance, seeing the show could be addictive. Individuals get so fascinated in watching the show that they don't have sufficient energy to take part in other profitable things and that isn't empowering. Discussing ethics, I don't think there are ethics to gain from the show, every one of the housemates demonstration insane and they are not of good direct.

I don't have an issue with the housemates engaging in sexual relations – Wealth Akintunde, Entrepreneur

The show is entertaining to a degree, and also teaching with some ethical lessons. The show shows resilience and continuance. Housemates figure out how to endure each other in the house. It additionally draws out the best in individuals and causes them find their inventive sides. The show isn't altogether negative since I feel that what you see is the thing that you get. The main negative thing so far is the utilization of foul words by the housemates.

I don't have an issue with the housemates engaging in sexual relations as they are largely grown-ups. On the off chance that as a watcher you can't overlook watching the intimate moments why not look for that minute? Sex is a typical thing so why is everyone fuming. This is a diversion and those included are grown-ups. I feel the show has more positive than negative effects on the Nigerian adolescents.
