"Bomb blast kills one in Edo" – State Govt


A bomb blast is reported for to have killed one individual in Edo State on Monday, as indicated by a statement from the state government. 

The statement issued by the Government House, Benin City, on Tuesday said the blast happened in Okpella people group, Etsako East Local Government Area. 

The statement said a bomb-prduction facility has likewise been found in the zone. 


There has been strain and encounters of late in Okpella on account of a putrefying dispute between Obu Cement Company and an adversary organization, Dangote Group over the ownership of mining site in the territory. 

The state government asserted, around two weeks back, that Governor Godwin Obaseki's caravan was assaulted in Okpella by activists supposedly impelled by the Managing Director of Obu Cement Company, Yusuf Binji. The police had said that they didn't know about the "assault". 

Mr. Obaseki on Tuesday coordinated the police and the State Security Service, SSS, to look for explosives and different weapons in Okpella and furthermore incapacitate nearby civilian army working in the territory. 

"We can't imagine that things are fine. We should move arms out of private turns in that group and guarantee peace comes back to that space," Mr. Obaseki was cited as telling the customary leader of Okpella, Andrew Dirisu, who drove different boss on a cordiality visit to the governor.

were in private turns in your area," the governor said.

The traditional ruler was said to have spoke to the governor to locate an elective methods for settling the debate between the Obu Cement Company and the Dangote Group, outside the court.
