Army general who led coup against Mugabe sworn in as vice president

Retired armed force boss Constantino Chiwenga, who led a coup in November that finished Robert Mugabe's 37-year lead, was introduced as Zimbabwe's Vice president in Harare on Thursday.

Mr. Chiwenga, whose appearance on state TV on Nov. 15 preceeded soldiers rampaging, making ready for Emmerson Mnangagwa to end up president, is the most recent in a string of military pioneers to be raised to government positions.

Mr. Mnangagwa has named a few senior military officers to his bureau and the
decision gathering's best basic leadership body, the Politburo.

Be that as it may, he is experiencing tension from restriction parties and the general population to actualize political changes.
