The Lagos State Police Command has arrested an auxilliary nurse, just distinguished as Oyekanmi, for her role in the passing of an infant she took devilery of in the Odogunyan, Ikorodu area of the State.
The Punch accumulated that the casualty's mom, Adeola, had been taken to Oyekanmi's residence last Saturday when she went into labour.
While endeavoring to force the delivery, the assistant medical attendant coincidentally
pulled off the infant's hand, prompting to the passing of the child.
After so much exertion, she was said to have advise that the child be taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital, where the dead child was at last delivered.
Upon inquiries from the specialists at the doctor's facility on what really happened, the casualty's mom then opened up. The clinic administration then cautioned the police to the incident.
A source said Oyekanmi was grabbed by the police.
The source said, "What happened was that the auxilliary nurse attempted to deliver the lady of the infant, amid which there was a complexity. Be that as it may, she proceeded and at last, the hand of the infant was pulled off while she attempted to constrain the child out from the mother's womb.
"A while later, they immediately stuffed the lady together and delivered her to the general hospital center. It had turned into a basic case by then. The remaining parts of the dead child were brought out, while the matter was accounted for to the police."
Affirming the incident, when reached, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said that investigations were progressing.
She said, "The doctors at the hospital found that something was amiss subsequent to investigating the dead child and seeing that one hand had been pulled off. Every one of the gatherings were welcome to make proclamations. It is an instance of child murder; investigations are progressing."
