Nigeria Flag Original Submission By Akinkunmi

The designer of the national flag Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, was a twenty-three-year-old undergraduate. He was learning at Norwich Technical College in England when he saw an advert in a daily paper that entries were being appreciated for the outline of another National flag. In 1959 Akinkunmi's configuration was picked as the champ and, with adjustments, was first authoritatively used on October 1, 1960, Nigeria's Independence Day.

I smiled, Nigeria's sudden change served as a huge inspiration

Hitherto we lived ignorantly in this poor excuse of a nation

Now we all struggling to be heard,we need the government's attention

I remember how we lived off our numerous plantations

At least in the international community we gained recognition 

I look at this nation and I tear up,our talents are not being invested upon,this is the highest state of suffocation

I'm lost for words,i'd sure search for a certain solution...
