ASUU: Top LASU authorities associated with admission racketeering


The Lagos State University (LASU) part of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has affirmed mystery and racketeering in the university's admission procedure. 

In a letter dated October 15, 2018 and marked by Tony Dansu, secretary of the association, and Adeolu Oyekan, his right hand, ASUU-LASU affirmed that staff in the "most noteworthy workplaces inside the college" are participating in admission racketeering. 

The letter said after the main bunch of candidates were endorsed by heads of departments, names of candidates who scored underneath cut-off imprints were infused into the admission list. 

The association said it saw the "worrisome pattern" in the 2017 admission process where the 3,500 candidates prior cited by the university expanded to 4,343 who were cleared for registration. 

"We are therefore left to wonder if the announcement a few days ago is this time a
genuine closure of the process or yet another ritualistic declaration that In fact signals the commencement of another round of admissions under an arbitrarily determined process,” the letter read.
