I killed the king to cliam his throne - Suspect

One Omoniyi Ademola has revealed that he killed a customary ruler in Ekiti State, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin, keeping in mind the end goal to assume control over his throne.

Ademola killed Oba Ogunsakin, the Onise of Odo on Monday. Oba Ogunsakin, 80, who was enthroned in 1986, was killed with a knife in his castle on Monday in the wake of leading a gathering of his chiefs in the royal residence.

Talking while at the same time being marched in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Ademola said he assaulted the ruler keeping in mind the end goal to assert his "right."

Ademola, who spoke fluent English, was said to be an individual from an illustrious family in the community. He asserted that his family had designated him to assume
control from the late king whom he said was filling in as a block.

The presume stated: "The crown didn't have a place with Oba Ogunsakin on the grounds that the town a year ago announced the throne empty.

They said our Oba was dead and my family assigned me to assume control just for him to reemerge again and said he remained the Oba.

Last December, my family nominated me and from that point forward I have been endeavoring to assume control over (the royal position). That day when I got to the royal residence, it was the Oba that initially assaulted me and I assaulted him back which led to his death.
