Plateau records four new cases of Lassa fever


Plateau State Health Commissioner, Dr. Kuden Kamshak, has said that four new cases of Lassa fever have been accounted for in the state. He, notwithstanding, said that the cases were being researched while the specimens have been taken to the analytic focus at Irrua in Delta State for examination. 


Kamshak, while tending to newsmen in Jos on Tuesday, said that out and out, 10 cases were accounted for in the state while just two tried positive to the illness. 

The official affirmed The PUNCH report that one of the casualties was an undergraduate of the University of Jos, while the second was a Fulani lady traveler from Riyom Local Government Area of the state. 

He said that the undergraduate had been dealt with and released, while those isolated as a consequence of relationship with the casualty have likewise been discharged, having experienced the obligatory 21-day perception. 

As per him, in this way, just four of the relatives of the Fulani migrant have been segregated and are as of now under perception.

On the recorded instances of polio in the nation, Kamshak said the last time Plateau recorded an instance of polio was in 2009 and the state government is doing everything conceivable to manage it.
